Situated just 2 minutes from the shops, pubs and restaurants of Bewdley and within 5 minutes gentle stroll of the River Severn, Fern Cottage offers an exceptional location as a base to explore Bewdley, the Severn Valley and the Welsh Marches.

The property is ideally situated close to the centre of the beautiful Georgian town of Bewdley on the River Severn.

The property has onsite parking, there are eight pubs, four Indian restaurants, two Chinese takeaways and a Thai restaurant not to mention the excellent fish and chip shop, all within a few minutes walk. There are more options across the river too.

Bewdley has two convenience stores, a traditional butchers, a Deli and a lovely farm shop. There are other shops to browse and an occasional Sunday market.

Bewdley Museum and Jubilee Gardens are free to visit in the centre of town. Riverside North Park across the river is a lovely spot with a children’s play area.

Investigate hiring a canoe or bicycle locally.

West Midlands Safari Park is less than a 5 minute drive away.

Somewhere for an outdoor family adventure is Habberley Trail 

Explore the Severn Valley Railway, there is a station in Bewdley 15 minutes walk from the property. The indoor visitor centre is at Highley and don’t miss the Victorian funicular, the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway a short walk from the end of the line.

The Wyre Forest Visitor Centre at Callow Hill  is only a short drive away with a variety of marked trails for all abilities.

Go Ape near the car parking offers a high ropes experience. 

To the west of Bewdley the countryside opens towards the Welsh borders, Ludlow with its fabulous castle is worth a visit.  Bridgnorth and Worcester are interesting too.

Witley Court, a ruined Italianate mansion operated by English Heritage. Not to be missed is the spectacular Perseus and Andromeda fountain ‘firing’ as it comes to life, check website for details. 

Bodenham Arboretum is an oasis of plantations, pools and avenues beautifully landscaped including over 3000 species of trees and shrubs from all over the world. 

Stourport on Severn has a fascinating network of canal basins where the canals meet the River Severn. There is also a fun park and large riverside park.
